Love Island Usa is definitely a summer reality TV show that everyone knows about. After season 6 gave me a great experience with real connections and interesting drama, I had very high hopes for season 7. The first group of actors seemed to have all they needed, with different personalities and a lot of potential. But as the season has gone on, it's become painfully evident that this is by far the worst season yet, and it's making me hate the show.
There have always been fake moments in the show, but this season, the producers' involvement is so clear that you can't help but notice it. The show seems less about finding love and more about making headlines, no matter how much it costs the Islanders or the public. We're seeing forced partnerships, questionable eliminations, and a clear lack of the real spark that made past seasons so much fun. The romanticism of Love Island USA is gone, and in its place is a cynical game.
The producer interference is ruining the realness of Love Island USA Season 7.People think the dumpings are rigged to keep drama going, not love.
The dumpings that seem to be manipulated have been one of the most annoying things about this season. Islanders who really wanted to connect have been sent home over and over again, while someone like Huda Mustafa, who always causes trouble, stay in the villa. I couldn't believe it when Hannah Fields was kicked off. She was one of the only people that was really establishing something with Pepe Garcia. Hannah said she was "blindsided" and termed her elimination a "sick joke." I can see why she felt that way. How could Americans vote out someone who was making relationships instead of someone who was causing trouble?
Jeremiah Brown's departure is the same. He was just starting to feel a spark with Andreina Santos after a rough time with Huda, but then he got dropped out of the blue. Many fans, including me, thought something was wrong right away, saying that the votes were rigged to keep "headline-makers" and get rid of "boring" participants. It's clear that the show loses its heart when it puts fake drama ahead of real connections. The new rules, which say that everyone in Casa Amor has to pair up to avoid being kicked out, make this forced story even more clear.
The "Sisterhood" is a fake thing that hurts the show.

It doesn't have the real ties that past seasons had.
The so-called "sisterhood" amongst the women is another big letdown this season. The friendships we saw in season 6, especially the "PPG" trio of Leah Kateb, JaNa Craig, and Serena Paige, were so strong that it was hard to top them. But this season, it seems like a fake illusion. I've seen the other ladies let Huda act badly, like talking behind people's backs, all in the name of keeping this "united sisterhood."
I think that a real sisterhood holds each other accountable and calls out bad behavior instead than letting it happen. It's hard to see the women ignore obvious problems only to keep up appearances. The villa's entire ambiance is further affected by the fact that the females don't really bond with each other. When the friendships aren't real, the whole place feels less real, and it's harder to put effort into any of them. The villa doesn't feel like a community since there aren't any real female friendships. It feels more like a strategic battleground.
Are the Islanders on Season 7 of Love Island USA just trying to get famous?

A lot of the contestants seem more interested in being famous than in love.
It's clear that a lot of the contestants this season are more interested in getting more followers on social media and chances to make money than in finding real love. The Islanders from Season 6 earned big platforms and even their own spin-off, Beyond The Villa. It looks like this season's group wants the same thing. In the villa, this way of thinking changes the way things work, as strategic games often takes the place of real love.
For instance, Ace Greene has been a key player in this criticism. Fans have said that he plays the game like Big Brother, using other Islanders as "minions," and even utilizing a purported past relationship with Chelley Bissainthe to go forward. Hannah Fields even said that Ace "was like the president of the villa," telling the males what to do. I enjoy a strategic player, but when it seems like everyone is just there for the fame, it takes away the main idea of the show. You can't really root for any pair when you think they might not be honest.
I can't stop watching Love Island USA Season 7, which is a mess.

The season still has me hooked, even with its flaws.
Even though I'm frustrated, I have to confess that Love Island USA season 7 is a catastrophe that I can't stop watching. You know you shouldn't watch it, but you can't help it. Even if most of the talk about it is negative, the ridiculousness of some of the eliminations and the obvious intervention by the producers have made it a topic of frequent conversation. I'm emotionally spent from watching it, but I can't stop. It's strange how a show can be so horrible that it makes you want to watch it.
I had such high hopes for this season, especially after how well season 6 did. It's sad to see the show go so far off course, putting fake drama ahead of real connections. There is still time for some couples to get together, although it seems less likely given the present path. I really hope the producers listen to what fans have to say for future seasons, because the way things are going now is turning off the devoted fans who watch for actual love stories, not simply headlines.
Every day at 9 PM ET, except Wednesdays, new episodes of Love Island USA season 7 show on Peacock.
