The big secret on The Young And The Restless is finally revealed. After weeks of conjecture, it has been revealed that the mysterious Aristotle Dumas is indeed Cane Ashby. Billy Flynn is the new actor to take on the role. This revelation sparked a new wave of drama in France and again in Genoa City. This episode surely keeps us on our toes.

Sharon's daughter is going through a lot. She is so disturbed by what occurred to that older man during her work trip that she is determined to change her entire life. She wants to keep it from affecting Tessa and Aria. The irony is that by not being forthright and asking her wife for a separation, she is hurting them in a different way. I'd say she's punishing herself. But a part of her wants to protect Tessa. She might not want Tessa to get involved in a crime. My prediction that this would push Tessa into Daniel's arms came true this week. He was just reassuring her. But we all know what happens on soap operas. It nearly always indicates greater difficulties down the line.

As it turned out, Cane's identity as Dumas was the worst kept secret on soap operas. So his revealing himself to Lily had little influence on me. I had to laugh when Amanda led Lily to him in the maze. Even after he spoke aloud to Amanda, Lily could not recognize her ex-husband's voice or the back of his head. Oh, goodness. I also found it amusing when Amanda informed Cane that Victor is a formidable opponent. Cane already knows this. He lived in Genoa City for more than ten years. However, a new spoiler video for The Young and the Restless reveals Cane has done something Victor will not appreciate, as Adam cautions, "Not one little bit". I'm guessing it has to do with Chancellor Inc. Yes, I'm very convinced it does.

Billy Flynn takes on the role of Cane Ashby and shares his thoughts on the change.

The actor discusses taking on an iconic role and the challenges that come with it.

Billy Flynn makes his debut on The Young and the Restless as the mysterious Aristotle Dumas on June 19th. He is now Cane Ashby. For the actor who has played Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives since 2014 and will continue to appear on the show for months to come, switching shows was not an easy decision. He shared: "There's that old saying you never get the job you want by staying at the job you have but it felt like a huge gamble." He was concerned about providing for his family if things didn't work out. He and his wife talked about it. He chose to take the leap. He says he's glad he did.

Flynn admitted that when he first spoke with Josh Griffith, the show's executive producer and chief writer, he had no idea what he would be doing. "When Josh told me the character analysis, I said, 'Yeah, that sounds great. "Let's do that." He only requested for further information afterward. Flynn began his research after realizing he will be Cane Ashby, a part portrayed by Daniel Goddard from 2007 to 2019. He elaborated: "I started watching old stuff but that was really hard because I'm not Daniel." So he read Wikipedia and fan pages instead.

He has printed out 25 pages of Cane and Lily's whole history. He stores it in his bag. It begins as follows: "Lily Winters who divorced Daniel Romalotti and Cane Ashby recently divorced from Amber Moore first met in 2007 to an instant chemistry." He did this to be informed about significant events. He discovered that Valentine's Day is really special to them. He is aware that he is a new person portraying a different version of the character. But he wanted to keep the history in his head.

New Cane Ashby faces distinct challenges in rebranding the character for viewers.

From accents to age differences. Billy Flynn discusses the expectations for his performance.

Flynn quickly recognized the issues that come with taking over the position. "Cane and Lily were already a big thing," he told me. "So I come in and not only do I have to have that connection with Christel Khalil as Lily Winters but I'm not Australian and I'm a bit younger." Daniel Goddard was excellent as Cane. Their relationship was a reflection of their profession. "Cane is a fascinating character," Flynn added. "Essentially, we're going to redesign it so that they have a more appropriate age range and I don't have a seductive accent. I can't recreate it, so I'll do my own thing. He believes that when others see his Cane and his relationship with Lily, they would be pleased.

Being a recast was not Flynn's only challenge. "The hard part was the idea that I'm playing Aristotle Dumas this refined businessman who Cane created," according to him. He compared his initial conversation with Josh Griffith to The Great Gatsby. Cane created Aristotle Dumas, much as James Gatz made Gatsby. Lily is Daisy. "He created this world to prove to her that he's good enough for her and that is a beautiful story to me."

Flynn believes that many things will be different, but Lily is Cane's true love, and he understands how to express it. Christel Khalil makes it easy, he remarked. She is really gorgeous, talented, and has a wonderful personality. He sensed good chemistry in their first scene together. This made him believe it was "going to be good." He was equally impressed with his fellow new castmates. "Everybody here is amazing." He observes Jason Thompson. Michelle Stafford and Christel Khalil appear on the monitor, and they are doing excellent work. It motivated him to better his own performance. He believes he needed this in his profession and life. He has been attempting to push himself a little. He played Chad for 11 years. He is now portraying two separate characters.

The actor reflects on his role as Chad DiMera and the personal impact of his career path.

Flynn described how heartbreaking it was to leave Days of Our Lives after more than ten years as Chad. His final scene with Susan Hayes as Julie Williams and Chad's children took place the Friday before his last day. His final scene as Chad on camera left him quite emotional. Especially with the children. He'd known them since they were small. With his own children, he felt a close connection to both them and Susan. His final day with Greg Rikaart as Leo Stark. It was lovely to finish with Greg. Greg came from The Young and the Restless, so it felt like a torch was being passed. Eleven years there. During that time, he experienced significant personal growth. He established trust there. They trusted him to play the part and complete the task.

He will recall his time in Salem fondly, both personally and professionally. "Other than being employed if I had not gotten that job it might not have led to some of the things that happened." He reflected. However, as a result, he became the person he is today. He met his wife, Gina Comparetto. When he discovered he had been cast in Days of Our Lives, they began dating. The knowledge that he would receive a paycheck gave him the confidence to ask her out because he could afford it.

Chad and Abby's relationship was very important to him, he admitted. His interactions with Kate Mansi and Marci Miller, who also portrayed Abigail, were the same. He spent what he describes as the most important years of his life there. The fact that he has done the work over the years has put him in a position where Josh Griffith can call him. This fills him with pride and happiness.

Now his entire focus is on Genoa City. "I'm still figuring out who this version of the characters I'm playing are." He said. "It's the introduction phase." He did not create Chad. He had forgotten what it was like and how much labor it required. But he's doing fine. He adores everyone there. People have been quite wonderful to him. Everyone has done everything they can to make him feel at home.

The Implications of This Major Character's Return for Genoa City Residents

As we hope our soap opera continues to produce intriguing stories, the Dumas/Cane disclosure creates fresh opportunities for drama. Claire and Holden are spending time together in Genoa City while her boyfriend is in France. This might lead to something. Kyle and Audra's alleged false flirting may perhaps become real. Michael Mealor joked, "What happens in Nice, stays in Nice." But will it really? Of course not. This could explain why Claire and Holden may get together after a few drinks. We can expect these lines to blur very soon.

If Aristotle Dumas is indeed Cane Ashby, The Young and the Restless might see some huge drama. Cane has been gone six years. He left behind unfinished plots involving various people. His return under a new identity could indicate that he is hiding something or has something important to say. This revelation might lead to painful reunions and a lot of tension in Genoa City. Especially if Cane's reasons for returning aren't genuine or if he has other plans. It would also reintroduce a long-standing character in a new and fascinating way. This would give long-time fans something to be excited about while also adding drama to current stories. Whether Aristotle or Cane is genuinely returning, Billy Flynn will do an excellent job of bringing this character to life for those of us who are watching.
