This program appears to pick up immediately following the events of Wakanda Forever, in which Riri assisted Shuri in fighting Namor. She is now returning to her hometown of Chicago. When a villain named The Hood, played by Anthony Ramos, enters the scene, her incredible technology will face off against magic.

Riri Williams appears directly from Marvel comic books. She is a brilliant young inventor who relies heavily on Tony Stark for inspiration. Riri's incredible talent for robotics prompted her to create an armored suit. The costume has frequently been compared to Iron Man's armor. Riri and Tony both had a strong desire to help others. The episode transports Riri back to Chicago and promises to show her facing fresh problems. This blend of smart technology and magic seems like a thrilling experience.

Slug appears to be a person who works behind the scenes, utilizing her abilities to benefit others. This is a nice contrast to the heroes who are normally out in the open. Slug does not participate in much of the physical activity. She's offering "more of the... I'll drive the getaway car, hang out in the van on my cute little laptop with my fierce nails and help you hack these mainframes." Her gorgeous look is not solely for show.

The name "Slug" is a code name. Shea hinted that her character would be sought after. She didn't want to reveal too much of Slug's backstory. The drag aspect appears in small bits of knowledge that the serial gradually reveals about Slug's past. Shea commented, "They've kind of left drag. They're a drag queen, but it's in a prior life." This aspect of the character is depicted in flashbacks because Slug is attempting to maintain a low profile presently. Shea is pleased that the MCU accepted her and Slug as openly queer individuals. She felt a lot of love and respect on the set. She hopes that people notice the true emotion poured into the work.

Slug's usage of "they/them" pronouns keeps the MCU on track in terms of character representation. Shea thought it was "really cool" to discover ways to be authentic both as herself and as the role. Shea also seems interested to returning for future Marvel ventures. She said, "Things evolve, and stories alter. You never know when a character will be useful in telling that story. "We'll see!" This type of open ending is typical in Marvel shows. Slug appears to be a potential character for future stories. I believe this feature will make the show even more fascinating.
