The first season finale of MobLand truly brought everything together in an intense hour. It was packed with bloodshed, betrayal, and more than a few surprising turns. Most importantly we now know that Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) is no snitch. He stays loyal to all the Harrigans. Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine) finally finds some peace. He stands up to his father and begins to take on a bigger role within the family. This is exactly why a terrific actor like Paddy Considine was perfect for Kevin.
By the end of the episode the Stevensons are gone. The Harrigans have turned on each other and Harry has a dangerous new enemy in Kat McAllister. The episode starts with Kevin letting out all his anger on the dead body of his prison abuser. He yells at his parents Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve (Helen Mirren) and his wife Bella (Lara Pulver). He even yells at Eddie (Anson Boone) who he now knows is not his son but Conrad’s. "My son is my brother, my wife is my dad’s sloppy seconds," he says. He also mentions his mum "worked on [Eddie’s] head until he became a monster, like her." Kevin decides to take control of the family while Conrad and Maeve are in jail.
He does not waste any time. Kevin calls Harry who quickly cleans up the murder scene. He moves their loved ones, Jan Bella and Gina, to a safe place. Harry then faces the real rat: family lawyer O’Hara Delaney (Lisa Dwan). Harry has known the truth for a while. Now he uses O’Hara as bait to take down Ritchie Stevenson in a series of clever double-crosses he plans with Kevin. But first Kevin pays Conrad a visit.
Kevin's Prison Visit Marks a Major Power Shift Within the Harrigan FamilyHow a Son's Confrontation With His Father Changes Everything For Their Empire
The prison talk between Kevin and Conrad is a huge part of the episode. Considine is so good here. Kevin tells Conrad that Archie was not the rat O’Hara was. This catches his father off guard. Then he reminds Conrad how he turned him into a monster. He explains the new rules: Eddie is now Conrad’s problem. Kevin is done pretending to respect or follow him. When Conrad and Maeve get out of prison Kevin warns them they will be walking into a different world. "My world. And in that world, Conrad, people pay for everything."
Elsewhere Maeve meets with Eddie from her prison cell and drops two bombshells. He is not Kevin’s son he is Conrad’s. Also Maeve and Eddie are not blood relatives. She makes a disturbing hint before giving him his marching orders: "You have to kill Harry, and then Seraphina. It’s a new world order, and in that order, you are the King, and I am the Queen." Sickening right? Eddie almost kills Bella for keeping the truth from him. Meanwhile Seraphina quietly suggests to Kat that she might be ready to switch sides. She doubts the Harrigans’ ability to win the war.
She is wrong. But first Tattersall (Toby Jones) a dirty cop working with the Stevensons gets rid of Alice (Emily Barber). Alice was the undercover officer who planted fake DNA evidence on Conrad and Maeve. Luckily Harry knew Alice was a cop. He recorded her admitting to the setup. This could eventually clear Conrad and Maeve’s names. With their plan ready Kevin and Harry use O’Hara to trap Ritchie’s men in a final attack. Then they kill both Ritchie and O’Hara wiping out the Stevensons for good. In a prison phone call Maeve tries to say the whole thing was her plan. She claims she was testing Conrad the entire time. She is truly evil.
The Dust Settles With New Threats and Unexpected Turns for Our Mobland Favorites

From Harry's Bloody Encounter to a New Enemy Emerging from the Shadows
There is still some unfinished business. Harry owes Kat McTeer a favor. She tries to get him to help destroy the Harrigans. Harry refuses saying Kevin is his friend. He tells her she can go screw herself. But Kat slyly hints that Seraphina is now working with her. So the dust settles. The Stevensons are gone. A new war with Kat McTeer is coming. Inside the Harrigan family a power struggle is brewing. Kevin is rising. Maeve is turning Eddie against Harry and Seraphina.
Two final loose ends: Bella and Kevin agree to stay together. They are bonded by the shared trauma of abusive fathers. Meanwhile Jan confronts Harry about how his loyalty to the Harrigans has put their family and marriage in danger. Furious and overwhelmed she accidentally stabs him in the chest. Harry insists he is fine even making a joke. He says she now has his "complete attention." My guess is that Harry’s season ends with a knife in the chest just in case Tom Hardy does not come back for a second season. It is a classic move to leave a character in a bad spot to ensure their return.
In the last scene inmates in the prison cheer for Conrad. He is now a legend for taking out the Stevensons. He is being celebrated as a hero. Once he is out Kevin will have a much harder time keeping him in check. It feels like the show is setting up a whole new set of problems for the Harrigan family. The cycle of violence and power struggles looks like it will continue. This keeps us on the edge of our seats wondering what will happen next. I think this ending is a good sign for the show's future.
Why The MobLand Finale Hit Hard and What It Means for Season 2's Likelihood

Looking At The Big Moments That Confirm More Episodes Are Definitely On The Horizon
This show started a bit slow. But now that the season is over I can honestly say I really like MobLand. It is the perfect role for Tom Hardy. He is great on screen with Paddy Considine. It is just the right mix of smart talk moody moments double-crossing and violence. Yes the show has some acting that is not perfect. It sometimes falls into typical mob drama cliches. But overall it delivers. This finale makes me want more.
So Paramount please give us MobLand season 2. I am surprised the show has not been renewed already even after the finale aired on Paramount+. The show clearly sets up a season 2. It points to Harry versus the well-known Kat McAllister or a lieutenant of hers we have not met yet. Watching Hardy and McTeer together in this episode gave me real Timothy Olyphant and Margot Martindale in Justified season 2 vibes. That was one of the best seasons of television ever made. Paramount owes it to us and the show to give it a chance to build on a season that has only gotten better with every episode.
The success of MobLand was clear from the start. It had a massive global series launch. This kind of viewership means it is a big hit for Paramount+. They will not walk away from this cast or the coming war with Kat McAllister. Paramount+ needs more big shows. It cannot rely only on Taylor Sheridan’s projects. MobLand has proven it can stand on its own. The finale leaves us with so many questions. Who will Harry truly be loyal to? Will Jan forgive him? How will Kevin handle Conrad once he is out of prison? And what about Kat McAllister? She seems like a formidable opponent. I am excited to see what chaos season 2 will bring.
