Martin Kove, who most of us know as the scary John Kreese from The Karate Kid movies and the famous Netflix show Cobra Kai, has been in the headlines for a few different things lately. Kove has been incredibly busy lately, with everything from serious accusations to a startling new business venture and his final comments on his famous persona. It's always intriguing to observe what happens to actors once their long-running shows expire. Let's go over what has been going on.

There was a significant accusation made against Kove not long ago. Alicia Hannah-Kim, who worked with him on Cobra Kai, said he hit her. This incident is said to have happened during the Washington State Summer Con. A lot of the people that worked on the Netflix show were there to meet fans. TMZ alleged that Alicia strolled by Martin and said hey. She says that he then grabbed her arm and bit it. He is said to have kissed her arm after she told him she was in pain. Alicia added that she and her husband, Sebastian Roche, who was there, warned Martin that it was not appropriate to bite her. She says he became mad and said he bit her "for fun." In the end, Martin said sorry to Alicia in front of a police officer. He was told to leave the gathering. Alicia chose not to file charges. But the police report did have pictures taken. The police added that there was "a very noticeable bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising." This sounds like a very bad situation.

Martin Kove is starting his own brand of cigars, which is more than just a dojo.

The actor known for playing scary villains now has his own line of high-end cigars.

Martin Kove is also starting his own line of cigars, which is a whole other story. Kove, who is 79 years old, has been smoking cigars for more than 25 years. As John Kreese on Cobra Kai, he typically had a cigar in his mouth. People say that Kove is nice and very different from the character he plays. He says that smoking cigars is "the height of my level of relaxation." I can definitely see that. Kreese always knew how to look tough, and cigars are a traditional element of that.

He has a new line of cigars named The Prodigal Son. He got this name from a new TV show he's working on. Paul DiSilvio, who started the La Casa Grande Cigar Factory in New York, and Sanj Patel are helping him with this. The Dominican Republic is where the cigars are rolled. They will only be available in one size: a Toro, which is 6 inches long and 52 rings. At first, you will only be able to buy them at a select places in late June. In the fall, a bigger rollout is expected. The price of each cigar is projected to be around $14. Kove is doing something cool here. It gives fans another option to get to know him outside acting. It also makes sense because of how his character looks.

The Cobra Kai Series Finale Gave John Kreese a Chance to Show a Side Fans Might Not Have Expected

Netflix now has the last episodes of Cobra Kai to watch. Kreese's narrative comes to an end. Cobra Kai has done a terrific job of fleshing out characters from the first Karate Kid movies over the course of six seasons. This was incredibly good for John Kreese. He could have just been a bad guy. But the brilliant writing and Kove's strong acting made him much more than that. Kove said he would only join the show if he could play Kreese with more depth. He intended to express "vulnerability, with flashbacks, and with emotion." The authors were in agreement. This was the beginning of a much more complex persona.

Kreese has usually been a terrible villain in the show Cobra Kai. But the decent side of him came out in the last few episodes. Kreese learns that he is on the wrong path with the Korean Cobra Kai team after Kwon dies by accidently falling on Kreese's knife. Kove added that when he saw Kwon's bloody body, he worried about what may have happened to him when he went after Terry. He stated it bothers him when people think of him as just a terrible guy. He likes characters who are amorous and display weakness. He felt that a part of him died when Kwon died since he was partly to blame.

Kreese then goes back to the US after leaving Korea. Before he leaves, he formally lets Cobra Kai back into the Sekai Taikai competition. He wants to help Tory (Peyton List) get back into the tournament and establish her own karate career. From the beginning, Kreese and Tory had a weird connection. They both enjoyed martial arts and had parents who weren't together. Kove stated he had always appreciated the female fighter. From the start, he was interested in Tory's character.

Kreese tells Tory he has "one last thing to do" before he steps aside when the tournament starts up again. After that, he chats to Johnny outside of the competition. He tells Johnny he's proud of him for bringing back Cobra Kai. He explains, "Sure it was different, but that's what it needed." Kreese then tears and tells Johnny he's sorry for hitting him years ago after Johnny lost to Daniel LaRusso. Johnny doesn't want to hear it. But later, Johnny spots Kreese leaving and goes after him. Johnny tells him in an emotional speech that he loved Kreese like a father and that Kreese's attack hurt him for years. They cry and finally hold each other like a father and son. Kove said this was his "favorite scene of all time." He stated it put all of his sentiments about all the experiences into one. He thought Johnny was the best and wanted to be his father because he didn't have any kids of his own.

Kreese gives Johnny the title of new sensei of Cobra Kai as his last gift. Johnny then makes Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) the male captain. This gets Miguel and Tory, two of Johnny's first students, ready for the final games. This could have been a beautiful end. But we're talking about John Kreese here. Kove said that Kreese still feels that he needs to deal with Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). Kreese thinks that Silver will do anything to keep Johnny from winning the tournament. Kove noted that Silver acts out of his ego, not like Kreese, who cares about the essence of martial arts.

Silver is making plans with his soldiers aboard his yacht in the last few minutes of the second-to-last episode. He wants to send people to threaten Johnny and his family. But before they can do anything, Silver sees Kreese smoking a smoke on the yacht. Silver hits him with a broken whiskey bottle. The battle starts. They go back and forth, knocking over a gas pump. Kreese takes his burning cigar stub and throws it into the gasoline just as Silver is about to win. There is a massive explosion when the yacht explodes. It looks like this is the end for John Kreese. Or is it? Kove said they filmed a sequence where his hand picks up a magazine with Johnny on the front and another magazine that says "Whatever happened to Terry Silver?" They didn't use this sequence. Kove added that the writers thought it was "too Hollywood" for him to show up at a magazine stand a day or two after the explosion. He got why they made that choice.

A Look at Martin Kove's Time with Family and Friends During Cobra Kai's Last Parties

Martin Kove spent the end of Cobra Kai with his family. He came to the premiere of the series finale in Los Angeles with his daughter Rachael, his son Jesse, and his grandson Jaxon. Kove, who is 77 years old, wore a bronze suit. He posed for shots with his grandson, who was wearing a black suit and bowtie. One shot showed them doing karate by putting their fists up. Another picture showed Kove standing behind Jaxon with his hands on Jaxon's shoulders. This demonstrates how proud he is of being a grandpa.

Kove went back to playing John Kreese in Cobra Kai. John is a rigorous teacher at the Cobra Kai Dojo and a Vietnam War veteran in the first movies. He pushed bullies and was notorious for saying "no mercy." John taught Johnny how to fight and had a feud with Mr. Miyagi, Daniel's teacher. On the show, John goes back to the valley in the hopes of making things right with Johnny. Johnny also gives him the Cobra Kai Dojo, and he becomes the head sensei for a new generation of kids who want to learn karate. In January 2023, the people that made Cobra Kai said that the show would terminate after season 6. They did hint at possible spin-offs. There were three parts to the last season. The last part is now available to stream on Netflix.
