Jessica Biel, who is 42 now, made a big splash recently. She launched her new high-end wine label, Prophet & Poet. This happened at the Upper Barn Vineyard in Sonoma County. What caught my eye, besides the wine, was her outfit. It felt more like Manhattan than wine country. To celebrate her latest business move, Jessica wore an embellished bomber jacket with a white t-shirt and black leather barrel pants. This look really brought something new to a controversial style we have seen in denim for months. I have to admit it made me do a double take.
Biel truly made a good case for the tapered horseshoe shape of these pants. She chose a very rock-and-roll pair made of leather with silver zippers and hardware. She kept the rest of her look just as cool, wearing a single chain necklace and a collection of rings. She finished it all off with white Chanel loafers that matched the season. I am not saying Jessica Biel’s leather barrel jeans were a wink to the original wine barrel, but I am also not saying they were not. Either way, they made me think twice about my usual switch to wrinkly linen pants when the weather gets warm. Luckily, barrel pants come in all sorts of styles and materials that will not leave you sweating when the heat really kicks in.
Even though Jessica Biel lives in Montana with her husband Justin Timberlake and their two kids, she came back to California for this event. This new venture has been something she has been thinking about since her brother’s beach wedding back in 2019. According to a press release, Biel worked with her childhood friend Jesse Katz to make a special, one-of-a-kind barrel of custom wine for Justin and Rose Biel. That barrel was first meant for the Biels to share. But this "symbol of love and connection" ended up sparking a team-up with Jackson Family Wines owners Chris and Ariel Jackson. It is a sweet story for a business launch.
Jessica Biel's Journey From Hollywood Star to Montana Mom and Wine EntrepreneurHow Her New Wine Label Connects to Family and Her Desire for a More Private Life
Jessica Biel explained what the wine means to her. She said that Prophet & Poet started as a personal gift, a symbol of love and connection within her family. Watching it grow from that special moment into something she can now share with the world is incredibly meaningful to her. She is excited for others to experience the story and spirit of these wines. The name "Prophet & Poet" is special too. It is named for Biel’s brother and his wife. Rose Biel is a shamanically trained energy healer, making her the "prophet." Justin Biel, a writer, is the "poet." Rose explained that each wine comes with a "wisdom poem," which comes from thinking about a specific topic or challenge people might face.
This wine brand is clearly aiming high. It is for collectors and serious wine drinkers, with prices that match. The Chardonnays are priced at $600 for a three-pack, and the Cabernet is $1650. Jesse Katz, known for making Bordeaux varieties in Sonoma, is confident about raising the area’s standing for collectable wines. The initial 2021 release has five wines: two single-vineyard Chardonnays named King Bird and Ghost Cat, and three red wines. The two red blends are Mountain Sage and Mourning Cloak, and the Cabernet Sauvignon is called Black Crown. The wines are sold in three-packs that come in boxes that look like old leather-bound books. The packaging and labels are very unique, with fantastic images and tarot-like cards on the back of each label. It all adds to the special feel.
The Broken Road vineyard, where some of the grapes come from, is quite interesting. Chris Jackson explains it sits at 550 meters, right in the upper layers of the fog that fills the valley every evening. The Chardonnay clone planted there is so unique it could not be matched at UC Davis. This gave them a chance to make something different. Another Chardonnay comes from Upper Barn, a top-tier site for Jackson Family’s Stonestreet label. The soil there is rocky and has blue schist, known from other famous wine regions. Jesse Katz, the winemaker, captured that minerality, creating a clear connection in the wines. The Cabernet Sauvignon, the top wine, gets grapes from Christopher’s Vineyard, the highest spot on the Jackson estate, along with grapes from Knight’s Valley in Sonoma. They are really trying to show off what Sonoma County can do.
Jessica Biel's Move To Montana For Privacy And Family Life Away From The Spotlight

How The Actress Balances Her Hollywood Career With Her Children's Need For Normalcy
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake made a big change back in 2015. They left their busy Los Angeles life for a permanent move to Montana. There, they wanted to raise their two sons with more privacy. Jessica spoke about the beautiful state in a new interview. She revealed they are very happy in their amazing Big Sky home. The couple had listed their Los Angeles home in October 2021 for $35 million. It was taken off the market shortly after. They also sold their New York City penthouse in 2022 for $29 million, and their Nashville home for $8 million in 2023. They moved away from the busy city to give their sons, Silas, 10, and Phineas, four, a calmer life away from the paparazzi and screaming fans.
Big Sky in Montana has become a popular place for celebrities lately. This is thanks to the Yellowstone Club, a members-only ski and golf resort. It sits on 13,600 acres of land. Members reportedly pay $300,000 in fees before buying a property, plus another $30,000 a year in fees. Other famous people living at the Yellowstone resort include Bill Gates, Paris Hilton, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jennifer Garner. Jessica shared with InStyle that her typical day includes skiing with her husband in the morning. Then they pick up their kids for another ski session in the afternoon. She stressed that spending time with the family is a huge priority right now because both she and Justin have been away working. These moments feel priceless.
Jessica talked about creating a normal life for their kids. She said you "get hammered" by fame on both the East and West Coasts. That is why they do not live there anymore. They are just trying to give their kids some normalcy. They want to share their family with loved ones and friends. They also understand their jobs have a public side to them. But the kids did not choose this life. She does not want to show them on social media until they can decide for themselves. She knows this very social media world is where they will live, and it will be a big part of their reality. But she does not want it on her account. They try to engage in a way that feels real, but without broadcasting them everywhere, with no disrespect to others who do. This is just their family's choice.
Jessica Biel's Acting Projects And Her Role In The New Series The Better Sister

Comparing Her On-Screen Relationships To Her Stable Real-Life Partnership With Justin Timberlake
Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks are starring as "twisted sisters" in the mysterious thriller, The Better Sister. This Prime Video limited series follows Chloe Taylor (Biel) and Nicky Macintosh (Banks) as they come back together to solve who killed Chloe's husband, Adam Macintosh (Corey Stoll). Adam was actually Nicky’s husband before Chloe married him. As the show unfolds, Chloe and Nicky’s dark past comes to the surface. Chloe’s son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan), who is Nicky’s biological son, ends up as a main suspect. It sounds like a lot of family drama. Detective Nancy Guidry (Kim Dickens) is also trying to get to the bottom of the murder and the family’s confusing history.
While the show is about hidden family secrets and dark truths, in real life, many of the lead actors have been in stable relationships for years. In the show, Banks and Biel were both married to the same man. But in real life, Biel is married to Justin Timberlake. Banks has been with her husband Max Handelman since college. Jessica Biel, who plays the stressed widow Chloe Taylor, and Justin Timberlake have been together since 2007. They dated for four years and briefly split in 2011 before getting married in October 2012.
Jessica spoke about her relationship with Justin. She told InStyle in May 2025 that having a partner who understands the entertainment and music industries has been very important and meaningful for her life and their relationship. He simply understands when she is working extremely long hours. She added that he is also her best friend. In 2015, the couple became parents for the first time when their son Silas Timberlake was born in April. They welcomed their second son, Phineas Timberlake, in January 2021. It is clear that despite her public career, family remains a central focus for Jessica Biel.
