Amber Heard revealed she has welcomed twin babies in a heartfelt Mother’s Day post that marks a new chapter for the actress. The Aquaman star shared the news on Instagram Sunday, announcing the arrival of her son Ocean and daughter Agnes.
“Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget,” Heard wrote alongside a photo of three tiny pairs of feet. “This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years.”
Heard describes family as a dream she worked years to build
Already a mother to 4-year-old Oonagh Paige, Heard called her growing family a “dream” and expressed how much she is “bursting times three” with joy. The twins, she says, are keeping her hands — and her heart — full.
“When I had my first baby girl Oonagh four years ago, my world changed forever,” she wrote. “I thought I couldn’t possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am.”
In a message aimed at mothers everywhere, Heard celebrated all paths to parenthood. “To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you,” she added.
Actor shares personal journey through fertility and solo motherhood
Heard’s announcement comes after years of keeping her personal life tightly guarded — especially following her high-profile legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp. She revealed she had fertility challenges but chose to become a mother “responsibly and thoughtfully,” by herself.
“Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life,” Heard wrote. “I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully.”
She first shared news of Oonagh’s birth in 2021, several months after the child was born. At the time, she spoke about wanting to normalize parenthood without marriage. “I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib,” she said.
Heard returns to public eye with hopeful message after years of silence
The twins mark Heard’s first public update in over a year on Instagram. Since her legal ordeals with Depp — which included two defamation trials that dominated media coverage in 2022 — she has mostly stayed out of the spotlight, living in Madrid.
Her last post before Sunday’s announcement was a birthday message in April 2024. Now, she’s back with a message not about controversy, but about love, growth, and family.
“This year I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang,” she wrote. “My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full.”
Mother’s Day post caps off emotional and personal rebirth for Heard
Amber Heard’s reveal may not be tied to a new film role or a comeback performance, but it’s certainly a turning point. After years of being defined by her relationship with Depp and the courtroom battles that followed, Heard is now defining herself on her own terms — as a mother, and as someone with a “dream family” she’s finally completed.
Whether or not we see her back on screen soon, this moment gives Heard a new story to tell — one without legal drama, and one where she says she “couldn’t possibly burst with more joy.”
