The Pokémon Presents broadcast in July 2025 brought a lot of fascinating news and updates from all throughout the Pokémon world. Fans saw a 24-minute presentation that showed off new animated series, games that are coming out soon, and big enhancements for games that are already available on mobile. Many people wanted to see titles from Generation 10, but the presentation was more about new games and improvements that are coming out soon, especially for the Nintendo Switch 2, which just came out.
A quick look at the most important announcements
There were a lot of announcements at the Pokémon Presents in July 2025. Some of the best parts were the fresh information about Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the surprising debut of a new puzzle game called Pokémon Friends, and the first look at the one-of-a-kind stop-motion series Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu. There were also updates on the Pokémon World Championships in 2025, Pokémon Champions, and popular mobile games like Pokémon GO.
Improvements to Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Nintendo Switch 2
The main focus was on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which got more information about its setting in Lumiose City and how it works. The game will be out on October 16, 2025, for both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.
What is Rogue Mega Evolution?
"Rogue Mega Evolution" is a new thing that will be a big part of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Wild Pokémon are Mega Evolving on their own, which is causing a lot of trouble in Lumiose City. Players will join "Team MZ" to look into and stop these Mega Evolved Pokémon that are going crazy. This new difficulty makes the exploration and combat much more exciting.
The First Appearance of Mega Dragonite
Mega Dragonite is one of the new Mega Evolved Pokémon that have been revealed. This strong form has unique Dragonair-like traits and promises to make you faster and better at flying. The announcement of Mega Dragonite has already had a lot of people in the community excited.

The presentation also stated that Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet got a free update that was made just for the Nintendo Switch 2. This upgrade makes the console run better, move more smoothly, and have better visual quality, making full use of its new hardware. This enhancement makes the latest system's games feel smoother and look better.
Unveiling Pokémon Champions: Features and Gameplay
There were also new details about Pokémon Champions, the next game that would center on battles. This game, which comes out in 2026, is all about competitive Pokémon battles.
Recruitment and Battle Modes
There are many ways for players to add Pokémon to their teams. "Trial Recruitment" lets Pokémon join for a short time so Trainers can try out different techniques. "Permanent Recruitment" lets you add Pokémon for good by using Victory Points that you get from Ranked Battles and other activities. Players can also utilize Victory Points to train their Pokémon, changing their stats and abilities to fit certain types of fight. There are three fight modes in the game: Ranked Battles, Casual Battles, and Single fight and Double Battle.
Pokémon Friends and Aardman's Stop-Motion Series: New Adventures
The Presents showed off a new game and gave fans their first glimpse at an animation project that people have been waiting for.
The Fun of Pokémon Friends Puzzles
Pokémon Friends is a new puzzle game that came out of nowhere and is accessible on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android smartphones. To get yarn, players have to complete more than 1,200 puzzles. They may then use the yarn to make cute Pokémon plushies in the game. You can use these plushies to adorn your own virtual rooms or present them to folks in town to finish "friend quests."

Aardman's One-of-a-Kind Pokémon Vision
The Pokémon Company has worked with Aardman Animations, the people behind Wallace & Gromit, to make a new stop-motion animated show. The show, called Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu, will start in 2027. The preview depicted Sirfetch'd and Pichu getting into trouble, which made it seem like the program would be funny and sweet. The series will show the Pokémon world from a new angle, via the eyes of the Pokémon, in Aardman's characteristic style.

PokéPark KANTO and Pokémon Concierge Season 2
There were also talks about new things to do besides games.
PokéPark KANTO, the first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction, was a big news. It will open in early 2026 at Yomiuriland in Tokyo, Japan. The park will have more than 600 Pokémon in two areas: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town. It will cover more than 26,000 square meters. They expect to start selling tickets in late 2025.

What people are saying and what they think will happen in the future
The Pokémon Presents in July 2025 sparked a lot of conversation among fans, with some of their hopes being satisfied and others not.
What We Wanted vs. What We Got
A lot of fans wanted to know more about Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and they got it with information on Rogue Mega Evolution and Mega Dragonite. It was nice to find out about PokéPark KANTO and the Aardman series. Some people thought that the pre-show with DJ Pikachu would lead to a music-themed game, but it didn't. Instead, it was a great way to get ready for the main event.
The Path to Gen 10
There was no mention of Generation 10 Pokémon games in the presentation, which was a big deal. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a big release, but some fans are worried about the future release schedule because there hasn't been any news regarding a new mainline generation. Every three years, a new generation comes out, thus it's possible that an announcement for Gen 10 is coming up soon. This lack of news could mean that Game Freak is taking longer to make sure the game is ready for release, especially since people have been critical of how recent games have been released.
Tera Raid Battles in Scarlet and Violet
In addition to optimizing for the Nintendo Switch 2, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet also unveiled new Tera Raid Battle events. There will be Shiny versions of the four Ruinous Pokémon: Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu during these events. Players can't catch them directly from these raids, but if the community defeats one million of each, they will be given out as Mystery Gifts.
