If you are a Playstation fan like me, you probably have tomorrow circled on your calendar. Sony is getting ready to show us a new State Of Play, and with it comes a lot of excitement about what could appear. Now that this rumored PlayStation show has been confirmed to happen, the big question is which games will actually be there. Several important PlayStation titles have been announced already, but we have not seen much of them. Plus, there are whispers of a really big announcement coming at the show. This makes me extra curious.
The June State of Play event starts at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT. You can watch it on PlayStation's official YouTube and Twitch channels. Sony has not directly told us what will be shown, but the PlayStation Blog post said: "The show highlights a selection of great games from creators across the globe." While we are not entirely sure what will come, I have some strong ideas about what might appear at tomorrow's show. It is shaping up to be an interesting event right before other big gaming showcases happen later in the week.
Big PlayStation Titles We Are Hoping To See At Tomorrow's State Of Play PresentationFrom Wolverine To Silent Hill And Jurassic Park, The Anticipation Is High For New Footage
First up on my list is Marvel's Wolverine. This game was announced three years ago and we have not heard much since. Insomniac Games, the people behind the popular Marvel's Spider-Man series, stated they are waiting for the right moment to show the game. Now that Spider-Man 2 has been out for over a year, it feels like it is time for Insomniac's next project to get some attention. Insomniac is a first-party studio for Sony, so Marvel's Wolverine will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. I think the State of Play would be the best time to show a gameplay trailer or at least another cinematic trailer and a release window. The game had some early leaks a while ago, but other than that, we know very little about it.
This leads me to another thought: could the rumored Untitled Venom Game be real? Unlike the first Marvel's Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 will not get any DLC. However, a meaty side game, much like the Miles Morales game, could be a possibility for 2025. The unconfirmed Venom title was part of a big Insomniac data breach that showed Wolverine gameplay and other Insomniac projects. The reported Venom game might continue the Carnage storyline that was left hanging in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Venom is briefly playable in Spider-Man 2, so it seems like they laid the groundwork for him to be playable at some point. The third main Spider-Man game is probably still far away.
Next, I am thinking about the Silent Hill 2 Remake and its "Born From A Wish" DLC. The remake was released to good reviews. Fans seemed happy with how true it stayed to the original story. Its great sound design, gripping plot, mind-bending puzzles, and modern gameplay helped it succeed. One notable missing part was the "Born From A Wish" Maria-focused game mode from the original Xbox release. After the success of Bloober Team horror titles, the Silent Hill 2 Remake sold more than two million copies. This was another win for the studio. However, the studio might not have the time for the DLC. Bloober Team recently signed a new deal with Konami. They are also making Cronos: The New Dawn and another game called "Project R." While "Born From A Wish" is not impossible, juggling so many projects at once would need a lot of people.
Jurassic Park: Survival could also appear. This game was announced at The Game Awards 2023. It is a survival horror game that focuses more on stealth than fighting. Updates on the game have been quiet since then. The game is set one day after the events of the first film and is played from a first-person view. A new Jurassic World Rebirth movie is set to come out on July 2. This might be the perfect time to show more about Survival and get people thinking about Jurassic Park again. It would also help promote both the game and the movie. With so little information out there, it seems unlikely the game will come out this summer.
What about Judas? This game is seen as a spiritual successor to Bioshock. It was created by Bioshock director Ken Levine. It was first supposed to come out in March 2025, but that time has passed. No new information about the game has appeared recently. The game was announced at The Game Awards 2022. We have seen gameplay that looks very similar to Bioshock, but the game's status has been unclear since then. The State of Play could be a time to address the missed release window and bring it back to fans' minds. I really hope we get some news on this one.
Unexpected Appearances And The Highly Anticipated Reveals For PlayStation Fans

Could We See Gears of War On PS5 Or A Teaser For Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3?
A surprising one that might appear is Gears of War: Reloaded on PS5. This is a remaster of the original Gears of War, and it is coming to PS5. The game is set to come out on August 26. So the State of Play might be the perfect place to show this former Xbox flagship title running on the PS5. Microsoft has been trying more cross-promotion across platforms. They recently showed a PlayStation logo in an Xbox showcase for the first time. Gears of War sticking to the Xbox Games Showcase might still be more likely, but a State of Play appearance is not impossible. Gears of War: Reloaded will run in 4K, support 120 FPS, and include cross-progression and crossplay for multiplayer across all platforms. This could be the first time many PlayStation fans play Gears of War. So I think there is a good chance it will appear tomorrow before its August release.
More gameplay for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach or a launch trailer seems likely. This is PlayStation's big summer game. While it is confirmed to appear later at the official Summer Game Fest event, it seems likely that PlayStation's show will also feature the game again. We have seen quite a bit of footage recently from a big preview event where some media representatives got to play about 30 hours of the game. Hideo Kojima, the famous game creator, stated that internal testing shows players already like the sequel more than the first game. A reminder that the game comes out soon, with either a launch trailer or more footage, seems like a safe bet for the State of Play.
Could we finally get a teaser for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3? Even though Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth just came out last February, there have been several rumors that the final part of the trilogy is much further along than many fans thought. Cloud's voice actor recently recorded audio. Rebirth set up the game's world, size, and gameplay. So the time between games should be faster than it was for Remake to Rebirth. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake project is confirmed to be a trilogy. The gap between Remake and Rebirth was four years. Director Naoki Hamaguchi previously said that much of the work on the third game was already done. A full trailer seems unlikely, but a hint at the game's logo and official title and maybe a quick look at a part of the game are not impossible. A Final Fantasy crossover with Magic: The Gathering has also shared some information about part three. So an appearance at the State of Play would make sense, especially since Square Enix often announces titles early in their creation.
Ghost of Yotei has had a strange marketing timeline. The game has barely shown any gameplay footage, even though it is confirmed for an October 2 release. This follow-up to the very successful Ghost of Tsushima will likely get a big marketing push soon for its fall release. So it would not be surprising to finally see more in-depth gameplay. PlayStation has shared details about changes to gameplay, including updated open-world things and many new combat options. But the trailers have focused more on the story than long looks at the gameplay. As far as we know, Ghost of Yotei seems to be one of PlayStation's few major fall releases. An extended look at the State of Play would likely keep fans busy until the game's full release.
Finally, I am putting my hopes on Resident Evil 9 being revealed. Earlier this week, rumors said Resident Evil 9 had a "90 percent" chance of being revealed this week. This information came from a well-known RE leaker. With other rumors of new Capcom RE projects, it seems likely there is more than just talk here. This sets up a strong chance that RE9 appears at an event around Summer Game Fest. There are several big game events happening this week, so RE9 could be at any of them. The odds for State of Play are good because the Resident Evil 4 remake was announced at a State of Play in June 2022. With PlayStation reportedly keeping things quiet and possibly having a big announcement for the show, I think the most likely place for Resident Evil 9's showcase will be tomorrow's State of Play event.
